We love to go hiking during the summer. It is great to see the beautiful surroundings and hang out with friends and extended family. Our kids get to see and appreciate our fabulous state. But most of all, we get to be together as a family.
One of our favorite places to go is the Beaver Pond. I'm not exactly sure if its our favorite because it is where Ben and I had our first kiss; or because it is where he asked me to marry him; or just because it is a quick hike that the kids can do and it pretty too. It is probably because of all of these things that we love to hike here.

A couple of weeks ago we decided to hike in Albian Basin above Alta ski resort. It is a beautiful area as well, but not as secluded as the Beaver Pond. There is, however, a lot more running and jumping to be had on giant rocks, towers and hillsides. We were a little early for the wildflowers though. Usually they are out and gone by now, but because of the wet and cold Spring, they are just beginning. Hopefully we will be able to go back this weekend to enjoy them. I have heard it is amazing!!

You've gotta love the tye-dye shirt & Ben. They are two peas in a pod! If only he could wear it under his suits on Sunday!
Great hikes...we miss stuff like that!
These pictures make me homesick for Utah!
